NASCAR’s Federated Auto Parts 400 – Post #1 Picks

We’re back again with this weekend’s NASCAR Federated Auto Parts 400 from Richmond, VA.  Richmond is another short track so prepare for lots of laps led from early positions.

The salary information comes from DraftKings, if you don’t have an account – signup here

My Favorites
·        Kevin Harvick ($11,400) – The last short track race (IRWIN Tools Race Night from Bristol), Harvick finished 2nd after being held off by Joey Logano over the last 100 or so laps.  Harvick had 2 pit penalties which cost him big.  He looked the fastest and has put together a solid qualifying (6th) earlier today.  Look for Harvick to be fast again and to finish at the top of the leaderboard.
·        Joey Logano ($10,400) – Previously mentioned, Joey held off Harvick to win the IRWIN Tools Race Night.  He qualified 1st on Friday and looked quick again.  There’s no reason that he won’t finish high on Saturday.
·        Kurt Busch ($9,800) – Kurt finished 8th in qualifying on Friday and he performs about 12% better than his average at Richmond.  I like his price and I like him to have a big race on Saturday.
My Dislikes
·        Jeff Gordon ($8,500) – Jeff might prove me wrong this weekend but he looked slow on Friday (he qualified 23rd) and he was disappointed in his car as well as his driving.  Gordon is 12% better than his average at Richmond so he could have a decent performance.  What’s certain is that he won’t have the kind of front running performance you need from him this weekend.
·        Dale Earnhardt Jr ($8,400) – If you have Dale Earnhard this weekend, you’re making a big mistake.  He performs 8% worse than his average at Richmond and he qualified 29th.  He’s overpriced and will disappoint.
·        Martin Truex Jr ($8,800) – Martin has been good to me in the past, however I don’t think he’ll continue that success this weekend.  He qualified 16th and is 10% worse than his average at Richmond (worse on short tracks overall).  He’s not a great short track driver so you should avoid him this weekend.
Stay tuned tomorrow for full projections and optimal lineup.
Good luck and ABI,

Rob
